Reporting Concerns or Threats to Sage

Parents should contact the school immediately during school hours—or call police if life-threatening or after hours—if they are aware of any imminent threats. General Rule: If you are unsure whether something is serious, report it anyway so staff can assess the situation quickly and take action if needed.

Examples include:

  • Direct threats of violence toward a student, staff member, or the school
  • Social media posts, messages, or emails suggesting harm to oneself or others
  • Statements about bringing a weapon to school, or possession of weapons on or near campus
  • Physical fights or planned fights involving Sage students
  • Bullying, harassment, or intimidation that could escalate into violence
  • Suspicious behavior near school grounds (e.g., loitering, following students, trying to enter campus without permission)
  • Information about dangerous or illegal items (drugs, alcohol, explosives) on campus
  • Rumors about a planned attack or disruption to the school day
  • Severe emotional distress in a student that could lead to unsafe behavior

Once reported, allow staff and/or police time to work and follow up only if new information arises. In an actual emergency, do NOT come to campus unless directed by Sage staff or police. Avoid calling the school during an active emergency; updates will be sent when possible.

Emergency/Threat Response

Sage International School follows the Idaho Standard Command Responses for Schools (ISCARS) and works closely with Boise Police to ensure student and staff safety.
