Our Approach

We believe in foundational learning

We start with a strong foundation of reading and math in the early grades. We believe in all day Kindergarten. We believe in the science of reading. We believe that a vast majority of children can and should be strong readers before Third Grade, which will set them up for future success.

Strong foundations mean more success in school, stronger relationships with teachers and a pathway for future success. Throughout elementary, middle and high school, each child’s well rounded and rigorous education includes the arts, science, technology, a second language, literature, writing in every subject and science. At Sage, inquiry-based learning sparks our students’ curiosity, encourages them to ask questions, and prepares them to solve problems.

We support and care for each other

In addition to supporting academic development, IB addresses students’ social, emotional, and physical well-being through the IB Learner Profile. Sage International teaches their students to be caring and open-minded to the world around them. Our teachers strive to build meaningful relationships with their students, and encourage them to take agency over their own learning while giving them the support they need to succeed.

Our K-12 schools offer a unique opportunity for students to begin, grow, and thrive within one community and build strong relationships with teachers and peers that will prepare them for a successful future.

The International Baccalaureate at Sage International

The International Baccalaureate encourages students to think critically about the problems and challenges in their lives by asking questions, engaging in dialog, and by being active citizens and participants in their world. The IB encouraged students to engage deeply and thoughtfully with a range of topics. At Sage International Schools we ask our students to be artists, mathematicians, writers, scientists, multilingual, critical readers and, above all, thinkers. As one of our teachers said, “You don’t have to be a mathematician. You have to be a thinker.” We truly believe that at Sage International Schools.

Our approach to the IB at our schools also means we are forward thinking. In 1948, a group of educators set about the task of designing an education that would encourage and equip its students to create a better and more peaceful world. Sage International Schools place this at the heart of our mission. Learning at a Sage International School means that students are expected to grow and learn individually and also expected to grow in their abilities as collaborative thinkers and learners. Strong communities are places where there are shared goals and a willingness to work with others to make a better place for all. Sage International Schools asks all of its community members – students, teachers, parents/guardians – to embrace this mission and contribute to the community.
