Special Education

As a public school of choice, Sage provides special education services, including initial evaluations, to students based on a team process. Incoming students with IEPs will be assigned a case manager – the IEP may need to be amended when the student starts at Sage due to the 4-day school week and other considerations.

Enrolled students whose parents or teachers have a concern about potential need for special education services may be referred to the evaluation team for consideration of an evaluation. Special education students’ services and placement are determined on an individual basis by the IEP team.

Sage has 4 case managers, a full-time speech language pathologist, a contracted occupational therapist, and a contracted school psychologist. Please contact our director below with any questions:

Notice of Destruction of Special Education Records

Attention Parents/Guardians, Former Students, Eligible Adult Students:

Special Education records which have been collected by Sage International School related to the identification, evaluation, educational placement, or the provision of Special Education at Sage, must be maintained under state and federal laws for a period of five years after the Special Education Services have ended for the student. Special education services end when the student no longer is eligible for services, graduates, moves from Sage, and/or completes his or her educational program at age 21.

This annual notification is to inform parents/guardians and former students of Sage International School’s intent to destroy the Special Education records of students who are no longer receiving Special Education services for at least 5 years. These records will be destroyed in accordance with state law unless the parent/guardian or eligible adult student notifies Sage.

Education records for students who were enrolled at Sage International School and left the district prior to June 30, 2017 are no longer needed and will be destroyed after July 20, 2023.

After five (5) years, the records are no longer useful to the district, but they may be useful to the parent/guardian or former student in applying for Social Security benefits, rehabilitation services, college entrance, etc. The parent/guardian or eligible adult student may request a copy of the records in writing or in person at the following address:
